1. Introduction
Codoha Ltd. ("Codoha," "we," "our," or "us") operates the Himari mobile application (the "App"). Codoha Ltd. is a limited company registered in Taiwan (R.O.C.), located at Rm. 5, 4 F., No. 8, Guomin 8th St., Hualien City, Hualien County 970015, Taiwan (R.O.C.). This policy explains what information the App handles.
2. Summary
The App collects no personal data and shares none. It has no user accounts, no advertising, no analytics, no crash reporting and no third-party tracking. It creates no identifier for you, anonymous or otherwise. Your progress stays on your device. The App makes one kind of network call, to Google Play™, to check or complete a purchase.
3. Data We Collect
None. The App does not collect, transmit, sell or share personal data. We receive nothing from it. We therefore cannot identify you or link any activity to a person or a device.
4. Data Stored on Your Device
The App keeps everything it knows about you in one record in its private storage on your device. The record holds:
- Your course progress: the characters and words you have met, and when each is next due for review.
- Your settings: music and sound, the companion you chose, and whether English help is shown.
You can export that record to a file you choose at any time, and import it back later. The App never sends the export anywhere.
The record is deleted when you uninstall the App or clear its data in Android settings. We never receive it, so we cannot access, restore or delete it for you.
5. Purchases
The katakana course is a one-time in-app purchase handled by Google Play™. The purchase takes place in Google’s own payment sheet. The App does not see, receive or store your name, your payment details or your Google account. The App learns one thing from Google Play™: whether the course has been bought. It stores that answer on the device so the course works offline. Google’s handling of the purchase is covered by the Google Privacy Policy. This policy does not cover it.
6. App Permissions
The App requests one permission:
- Internet (INTERNET): lets Google Play™ Billing reach Google to complete or restore a purchase. No other part of the App uses the network. Codoha runs no server for the App to contact.
7. Device Backups
Android may include the App’s data in your device backup, for example to your own Google account, or copy it during a device-to-device transfer. Android manages these backups. You control them in your device settings. Codoha has no access to them.
8. Children’s Privacy
The App is not directed to children. Its target audience on Google Play™ is declared as 18 and over. It teaches a second writing system to people who already read a first one. The App collects no personal data, so it collects no personal data from children.
9. Your Privacy Rights (EEA, United Kingdom, and Switzerland)
If you live in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, data protection laws such as the GDPR give you rights over your personal data. These include the rights of access, rectification, erasure, portability, restriction and objection. The App processes your data only on your own device and never transmits it to Codoha or anyone else. Codoha therefore does not collect, store or otherwise process your personal data, and no international data transfer takes place. You exercise these rights on your device: view your progress in the App, export it to a file you control, or erase it by clearing the App’s data in Android settings or uninstalling the App. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection supervisory authority.
10. Changes to This Policy
If we change this policy, we will post the new version on this page with a new date. We will announce material changes in the App’s store listing or release notes.
