Pilots answer by voice. On the harder tiers a few of them read back the wrong number, which makes listening exactly as important as speaking.

Voice is the point, but it is never the only way in. A touch control does not send a shortcut command: it builds the transmission, reads it out in standard phraseology and sends it down the same path as your voice, so it is graded, read back and logged identically.
Hold the transmit pad under your thumb, or key it from the volume rocker. Bluetooth headsets work, and the app takes audio focus so a call does not talk over the frequency.
Select an aircraft and a strip appears in the thumb zone. Heading, altitude and speed each open a picker: a compass rose that draws the turn the way it will actually be flown, and ladders that hatch out the altitudes the aircraft cannot take. Alongside them sit direct, sequence, approach, handoff and ask.
Type the clearance instead. The same grammar parses it, so a quiet room or a failed microphone never stops a shift.
Arrivals descend toward the ILS. Departures climb into the flow. One late handoff or loose vector creates the next problem, so every call has a purpose.
One transmission can change the whole picture
“Speedbird one two three, turn left heading zero niner zero, cleared ILS approach runway two five right.”
The pilot reads it back and flies it. Say something courteous at the end and you get a courteous answer, without losing the phraseology bonus for it.
Eleven guided lessons run inside the game, each with a mentor talking you through it. They stay available in any order, remember what you have finished and lock nothing, so you can repeat the one skill that broke down on your last shift.
A tier changes how much traffic you are handed and how often a pilot mishears you. It never changes the separation minima, the scoring or the three violations that end a shift.

ATC Radio Sim is built on FAA Order JO 7110.65, and the order ships inside it. Ask how close two aircraft may get and the search opens 5-5-4 MINIMA, with a line saying the separation rule you just broke came from there.
The index reads the passages themselves, not just the headings, across all 688 of them. You do not have to know the name of the rule you need.
A section chip sits on the mentor lines, the lesson steps and the scored rows of your debrief, and opens the passage the rule came from.

KBAY
A fictional training airport with two ILS runways and a clean layout, built so the fundamentals are the only thing you are fighting.
KSFO
Worked as NorCal Approach, on San Francisco’s real runway geometry. It lands 28L and 28R at the same time, which is a different game rather than more of the same one.
A score alone cannot improve your next shift. The post-shift review shows what you handled well and what cost safety or efficiency, line by line.
Efficiency is measured against the straight line an aircraft could have flown through your airspace. Everything past a fair allowance is track miles you spent, and the debrief counts them.
Offline mode is a switch you throw, not something that happens to you. With it on, the app needs no connection at all: the full simulation, the scoring, all eleven lessons and the entire handbook, with the phone’s own recogniser and on-board pilot voices.
Voice control offline needs a device recognition service and a downloaded language pack. Where those are missing, touch and text still give you every command.
The AI pilots and the live traffic director run on our servers, so that part is generous rather than infinite. You get five cumulative hours per device. Only live shift time counts: the ready room, the handbook, pause and the debrief are free.
Shifts keep starting and scoring. The simulation, the eleven lessons, Ground School and the whole handbook stay exactly as they were. What stops is the live director and freshly spoken pilot audio. There is no nag, no shortened shift and nothing withheld.
On Android the recording is sent to Codoha to be transcribed and used for the current radio call only. Neither the recording nor the text is kept. Turn offline mode on and nothing leaves the phone at all.
